ATTENTION PLEASE: THE ARK HAS CLOSED!
The first Internet mailing list devoted to the discussion of Anthroposophy began in 1995. The Ark is a descendant of that list, and many of the original members are still with us. Most of us have a background in the fundamentals of Anthroposophy. (Founded by Rudolf Steiner near the beginning of the 20th century, anthroposohy takes a scientific approach to the study of spiritual matters.) The Ark differs from other groups in that we have no formal, stated purpose other than an affinity for community, anthroposophic issues and endeavors. Our postings are, at times, more personal than philosophic yet can be quite controversial and very stimulating. We often explore practical concerns of living the spiritual life and what this means to the group.
We're a private group and require all members to join us using their real names. (Pseudonyms are not allowed.) We have no wish to exclude any serious-minded participants but we remain private in order to discuss topics that might not be appropriate in a more public forum, and to maintain respect and courtesy among the participants.
Discussions often assume familairity with the fundamentals of spiritual science, but those who have studied Buddhism, Rosicrucianism, Theosophy, Gnosticism, Esoteric Christianity and the Kabala, to name a few, would likely find themselves on familiar ground. Those with no specific spiritual background, but who are seriously searching for a reasoned approach to spiritual experience, or an exchange of ideas, are invited to join as well.
